Student Internships

What does a student do during an Internship?

It depends on the internship host.

In general, interns 'help out' in the lab. Some interns get their 'own project'. LSSI interns usually contribute to their host lab projects.

About MATSC

What is an Internship?

Internships are paid or unpaid opportunities to get on-the-job practice in job skills. Internships typically last for a few months or for a summer term and can be part-time or full-time. An internship is an excellent way to find out more about the Life Science industry.

How to I get an internship?

Obtaining an internship often requires some good search skills and networking. Many organizations in the region provide internship opportunities. Here are links to some of them:

The Life Sciences Summer Institute Program is an organized internship program that matches 'internship ready' interns the local Life Sciences Industry. All applicants are encouraged to provide high quality, complete and in-depth application packets in order to be considered for the program.
